FivePD Controls, Keybinds and Commands
Find the legacy FivePD v1.5 keyboard controls for duty, callouts, traffic stops and the police computer, plus fixes when a key does not respond.
Quick answer: In the FivePD v1.5 controls reference, F11 opens the duty menu, Y accepts a callout, Z opens the callout menu and B opens the mobile data terminal (MDT). These are legacy defaults, not a guarantee about any particular FivePD community’s remapped keys.
This reference is based on the FivePD v1.5 Controls and Gameplay Info PDF in the inspected legacy archive. The release-status notes explain why that third-party archive is not an official live compatibility certification.
Basic FivePD controls
| Key | Action in the legacy v1.5 guide | Conditions and notes |
|---|---|---|
| F11 | Open duty menu | A player must belong to a department to access the expected menus and callouts. |
| Y | Accept callout or backup request | Go on duty and wait for an eligible call. |
| Z | Open callout menu | Requires the relevant duty and department state. |
| G | Open dispatch and scene management | The available options may be restricted in the server configuration. |
| X | Open pedestrian interaction menu | Context matters; the vehicle context can use X for traffic-stop positioning. |
| O | Set a waypoint to the nearest jail drop-off | Requires a qualifying arrested pedestrian being escorted or transported. |
| Hold E | Stop a pedestrian | The legacy instructions specify holding it for roughly two seconds. |
| E | Place a cuffed pedestrian in a vehicle | Stand in the correct position close to the vehicle. |
| Left Shift + E | Place or retrieve spike strips | Requires a supported vehicle and location near its trunk. |
| U | Place an arrested pedestrian in jail | Only at an available jail drop-off point. |
| J | Open the ID card panel | After obtaining a pedestrian’s identification. |
In-vehicle controls
| Key | Legacy action |
|---|---|
| B | Open the police computer / MDT. |
| Left Shift | Mark the vehicle ahead for a traffic stop; hold to cancel a stop or pursuit. |
| F9 | Toggle automatic license plate recognition (ALPR). |
| X | Open traffic-stop positioning while in the appropriate vehicle context. |
| Left Ctrl | Toggle cruise control after enabling it in the duty menu. |
| Numpad + / − | Increase or decrease the cruise-control speed setting. |
Do not mix these core bindings with controls supplied by vMenu, ELS, Luxart Vehicle Control, K9 add-ons or custom radio scripts. Those resources have their own configuration and may create conflicts. See ELS for FiveM and Luxart Vehicle Control for lighting-specific instructions.
FivePD chat commands
The v1.5 reference lists /fdv for removing the closest/current vehicle and /fdp for removing the closest pedestrian. They change world objects; check your server’s rules and the installed version before using them. Community-specific chat, admin and backup commands should not be presented as built-in FivePD commands without verification.
F11 or another FivePD key does not work
- Confirm the player has joined a FivePD-equipped server and is assigned to a department; the legacy guide explicitly requires department membership for menus and callouts.
- Check whether FivePD itself started without errors in FXServer/txAdmin. If the resource did not load, a keybind change cannot fix it.
- Inspect the FiveM F8 console for client errors and compare with a second player. Test the base installation before enabling extra scripts.
- Check FiveM keybindings and any server-specific remaps; distinguish core FivePD shortcuts from third-party resources.
- If the failure affects all players, use FivePD not starting: diagnostics. If only callouts fail, follow the callout troubleshooting guide.
FAQ
Why can I open the duty menu but not accept a call?
Duty state, department membership, callout eligibility and configuration are separate checks. Consult callout settings before modifying any files.
Is F9 the FivePD menu?
The inspected v1.5 controls document lists F9 for ALPR and F11 for duty. A different server may bind F9 to another resource.
How do I open the FivePD police computer?
The v1.5 guide lists B while in a vehicle. See FivePD police computer and reports for the separate features and configuration limits.
Are these keys valid for FivePD 2.0 or GTA V Enhanced?
This site has not validated that combination. These keys are sourced to the v1.5 document, not a verified FivePD 2.0 release.
