LCPDFR vs FivePD: Which Police Mod Should You Choose?

Compare LCPDFR and FivePD by game, patrol setup and add-ons. Understand where LSPDFR fits, then choose GTA IV policing, GTA V solo play or FiveM co-op.

Getting StartedArticle updated

LCPDFR and FivePD are police mods for different games and setups. LCPDFR is LCPD First Response for GTA IV. FivePD is a separate police-roleplay modification used on GTA V servers through FiveM. Choose by the game you want to play and whether you want to manage your own installation or join a patrol community, rather than treating one as a direct upgrade to the other.

Three names, not one mod: LCPDFR is the GTA IV project; LSPDFR is LSPD First Response for GTA V; LCPDFR.com is the website hosting both projects and community downloads. For GTA V single-player versus FiveM patrols, jump to LSPDFR vs FivePD.

The LCPDFR project page and LSPDFR project page establish that distinction. Our FivePD overview explains the server-based alternative. This is an independent comparison, not an endorsement by any of the development teams.

LCPDFR’s authors describe the original project’s development as discontinued in 2015 and list a later Legacy Edition compatibility update. Follow the instructions for that package and game build; no legacy multiplayer combination was tested for this comparison. FivePD’s setup column refers to legacy resource concepts, not a newly verified release: see the version and source limitations.

Which one fits your next patrol?

Choose LCPDFR for GTA IV. The game and setting are the reason to choose it. Begin with the author’s download and compatibility instructions rather than adapting a GTA V or FiveM tutorial. Keep a clean backup before changing an existing modded installation.

Choose FivePD for a FiveM patrol community. Joining an existing server is a different task from hosting one: you can try the community’s rules, vehicles and callouts without first configuring a server or database. Start with the FivePD player guide. What you see on one server is not necessarily included in another server’s FivePD package.

Choose LSPDFR for GTA V single-player police gameplay. It is the relevant comparison when you want to play in GTA V without joining a FivePD server. The next section explains why the installation paths differ.

LSPDFR vs FivePD: the GTA V comparison

LSPDFR runs in a local GTA V police-mod setup. Its official installation guide describes the LSPDFR files, the Plugins folder and launching through RAGE Plugin Hook. You manage the compatible game build, plugins and local configuration yourself.

FivePD instead runs as a FiveM resource with client and server components. The inspected legacy resource manifest declares those components and separate callout/plugin paths. That file is from a third-party legacy mirror, not proof of the latest official FivePD release. Owners should use the version-scoped server setup guide, while players follow their chosen server’s joining instructions.

FivePD is not an official multiplayer port of LSPDFR, and installing LSPDFR is not a prerequisite for joining a FivePD server. A solo FivePD patrol still uses a server, including a private or local one; it is not the same as launching a GTA V single-player plugin. Neither workflow is an instruction to install police mods into GTA Online.

Can you reuse vehicles, callouts and plugins?

Do not assume that a download on LCPDFR.com works with FivePD. The host website is not a compatibility label. Check the file’s game, runtime, dependencies and license before installing it.

A LSPDFR plugin built for RAGE Plugin Hook does not become a FivePD callout by moving it into a server folder. Use a package explicitly intended for your FivePD version and follow the FivePD callout installation guide. GTA V vehicle assets may have separate single-player and FiveM packages; installation instructions and redistribution permissions must be checked individually. GTA IV assets are not drop-in GTA V replacements.

Review the download sources and community add-ons before choosing files. A free download or a public repository does not itself grant permission to redistribute software. The game, paid add-ons or hosting may involve separate costs; no universal monthly price is implied here.

Version support before you install

Check the mod’s own release requirements as well as the platform. FiveM’s installation documentation covers the client, not compatibility of every FivePD binary or add-on. Likewise, use the LSPDFR author’s download notes for the selected GTA V edition and build.

Support for an edition such as GTA V Enhanced at the platform level does not establish FivePD support. This comparison does not certify an Enhanced-compatible FivePD release, rank the mods by FPS or claim that either is more stable. No game sessions or performance benchmarks were run for this article.

Frequently asked questions

Is LCPDFR the same as LSPDFR?

No. LCPDFR is the GTA IV mod; LSPDFR is the GTA V mod. The similar names and their shared host website can make search results confusing. Select the game before following an installation guide.

Can I play FivePD alone?

A solo patrol is possible on a suitably configured server, but the server is still part of the setup. Do not read “solo” as a promise of an offline, server-free single-player installation.

Do my friends need their own FivePD server?

No. Players join the same configured FiveM server, subject to its access rules. The owner manages that server’s resource installation. The player guide and server-owner guide cover those separate jobs.

Sources and review scope

Sources checked on 3 October 2026 for project identity and installation architecture: the LCPDFR and LSPDFR project pages, the LSPDFR installation/download instructions, Cfx.re’s FiveM installation documentation and the pinned legacy manifest linked above. The legacy mirror is clearly identified rather than presented as an official distribution.

This article does not verify downloadable binaries, a current FivePD release, legacy multiplayer compatibility or an in-game installation. Keep those limits separate from the publication date. For the site’s earlier FivePD source review and outstanding questions, read FivePD status and evidence.
