FivePD Police Computer (MDT): Controls and Reports
Learn how to open the legacy FivePD police computer, identify its documented report settings and diagnose missing MDT features without guessing.
The legacy FivePD v1.5 control guide lists B as the police computer (MDT) key while in a vehicle. This refers to the computer bundled with that FivePD package, not to every third-party CAD, dispatch or MDT script available for FiveM.
The v1.5 Controls and Gameplay Info guide in the legacy repository lists the key. The inspected resource manifest also declares computer/index.html as a UI page. These files establish a package layout, not compatibility with every current FiveM build.
How to open the FivePD MDT
- Join a server that actually runs the appropriate FivePD package.
- Check its onboarding requirements and go on duty where required.
- Enter a suitable vehicle and press B using the legacy v1.5 default.
- If nothing opens, check the server’s published keybindings and FiveM F8 errors before changing server files.
For the full action list, use FivePD controls and keybindings. Never assume an unrelated community MDT uses B.
What is part of the inspected legacy package?
The source tree includes a computer/ web interface, fivepd.sql and fivepd.db, and a root config.json with fields for record limits. The presence of these files does not prove every screen or workflow works on the build you are running.
| Observed setting | What it controls by name |
|---|---|
| maxReportLength | Bound for report text length. |
| maxReportCount | Bound for report count. |
| maxCitationCount | Bound for citation count. |
| maxChargeCount | Bound for charges attached to records. |
| maxFine, maxFinePoint | Limits associated with fines. |
| isSignatureEnabled, maxSignatureSize | Signature-related options. |
See the actual inspected root config.json and config/charges.json. Charge and violation labels in an old sample file are game content, not a statement of real-world law.
MDT, dispatch and third-party police scripts
Distinguish the following:
- FivePD’s bundled computer: tied to the installed core and its legacy settings.
- Dispatch or callout UI: the G and Z keys are listed separately in the legacy v1.5 controls.
- Third-party CAD/MDT: may have a standalone resource, separate database, framework dependency and its own hotkey.
Installing a second MDT does not automatically migrate FivePD’s records into it. Check the integration provider’s documentation, database schema and data-handling policy before replacing core features.
FivePD police computer not opening
| Observation | First check |
|---|---|
| B does nothing for one player | Correct vehicle/context, server keybind changes and client F8 errors. |
| Menu opens but reports fail | Inspect the configured database backend and first relevant server error. |
| Everyone loses the computer after an update | Roll back the changed build or resource in staging, then compare manifest and dependencies. |
| Only a third-party MDT fails | Diagnose that separate resource using its owner’s requirements. |
Do not overwrite the computer/ directory or import a random SQL file as a first attempt. The database diagnosis guide covers safe persistence checks; FivePD not starting covers core resource failures.
Can FivePD MDT work on GTA V Enhanced?
The inspected legacy files do not establish GTA V Enhanced compatibility. Read the FivePD project status and test the exact package separately before making such a claim.
